LAHORE, Pakistan — The Government of Punjab has officially announced an extension of summer vacations for all educational institutions across the province. The decision was made in response to the ongoing spell of heavy monsoon rains and the resulting flood situation in various districts.

Educational institutions, which were previously scheduled to reopen on August 18th, will now resume academic activities on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Prioritizing Student Safety

The announcement came from the School Education Department following a review of the weather and flood advisory reports. Punjab's Minister for School Education stated that the well-being of students and staff is the government's foremost priority.

"In light of the current weather conditions and flood relief operations, we cannot risk the safety of our children. This one-week extension will ensure that travel is safe for everyone once the situation normalizes," the minister's statement read.

Advice for Students and Parents

The directive applies to all public and private schools and colleges throughout Punjab. Parents and students are advised to stay updated through official channels and take necessary safety precautions during this period.

Students are encouraged to use this additional time for revision and preparation for the upcoming academic session. EduSite will continue to provide educational resources and updates as the situation develops.

We urge everyone to stay safe and follow the guidelines issued by local authorities. All institutions are now set to welcome back students on the new reopening date of August 25, 2025.
